(traveling III)

Thu Jul 27, 2006, 11:59 AM
Get the reference, get a cookie.

So here I am on the verge of an endeavor I've never before made. Several, in fact.

Starting in September I will be leaving to bicycle cross-country. I really have no idea what I'm getting myself into, honestly, but it should be interesting. At the present time it looks like I'll be leaving from Bar Harbor, Maine, passing through Nashville, TN and New Orleans, LA on the way out to southern California, from whence I will depart on the second leg of my journey, on foot, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canadia.

Along the way I'll be stopping at a number of intentional communities (communes in the old parlance) to see what they're all about and learn as much as I can about that sort of lifestyle, both to see if there's a place I can call home on this Earth, and to see if I want--and am ready--to start my own anti-genericana alternative infrastructure community. Along the journey, I expect to meet a lot of interesting people and see a lot of natural beauty. I'd welcome, but really don't expect, any company.

In the end I expect to have a pile of pictures, letters, and a full journal or two: My next new endeavor will be to write a book chronicling the adventure and describing what I found.

Y'all are welcome to get involved any way you see fit. At the moment I'm still contacting communities and trying to get my bicycle together. I'm unemployed, which makes it harder to do the latter, as well as leaving me worried about buying food along the way. But I'll be leaving, come hell or high water, within a month and a half. An ever-changing list of stops and routes will remain here: [link]

Who reads this, anyway? Cheers, all.

Hey, I'm starting an Anti-Bush/War Mosiac with my friend ~art-geeks, and was wondering if you'd be interested in added your photo.. Everyone is welcome (that is against Bush's presidency or the war, that is), and we'd like to get as many as possible, so we would appreciate your help in getting our voices heard.

You can find out a lot more information about this in my journal. You can leave a comment anywhere or note me if you want to participate, thank you!

Hey, Eon, it's been eons...

I haven't had computer, let alone scanner access in a long while, so I let my participation in the site dwindle to naught. I'd love to be part of the mosaic, though, if you're still working on it. Happy 3rd of July (anniversary of my release from prison, my Independence day) and July 4th and all that. Email me at greenmansinger@hotmail.com when you get this
And thank you for inviting me to be part of this,

Marvin

so i borrowed a pair of those mittens that my brother had lying around, and ended up losing one. ohh tragedy.

but today, i went to a friend's house, and he had the same thing happen to him with a different pair, his were green, but still had the pull-over mitten, but yeah the hands matched up and everything. so now i have a pair again.

just wanted to share that with you.

You know, March is almost, and I just realized the significance of that story. I've been out of it. The stress of moving into my own place, and not having my parents' computer, has done things to me. Starting to wake up in the now....
:iconthesushiking:
thanks for everything. it's nice to converse with someone who's got a brain..
